Entertaining Young Children

Although it might seem simple to keep kids happy and entertained, the process is a lot more difficult than most people realize. I started thinking more seriously about going through and entertaining the kids in my house, and it occurred to me that we could do better. I began carefully considering all of the different aspects of entertainment, and I was really surprised with how many options were out there. I wanted to start a new website that looked at entertainment from a parenting perspective. Check out these posts to find out how you can keep your kids happy without compromising their intelligence.

Making Memories: Three Fabulous Gift Ideas for Families with Children from Toddlers to Teens

Rhonda Gardner

Finding the right birthday gift or holiday gift for each member of a family can be an overwhelming task. Shopping for multiple presents is time consuming and can be expensive, especially for large families. Giving the gift of an outing the entire family can enjoy is the perfect solution, as it gives the family a chance to spend quality time together and make memories that will last forever.

A miniature golf outing

From toddlers to teens, giving a gift certificate to a local miniature golf course is an experience everyone will enjoy. These mini golf courses are easy enough for a young child to play on and challenging enough to keep teens and adults from getting bored. The family can go any day that suits their schedule, and you can toss in a gift card to the local pizza shop for them to use following their mini golf adventure.

Contact businesses like Bonanza Golf and Gifts for more information.

A zoo outing

You're never too old or too young for a trip to the zoo. Purchase a ticket for each family member. Buy a large backpack and stuff it full of a variety of treats, such as fruit snacks, beef sticks, crackers, pretzels, and candy bars.

Encourage the family to take plenty of pictures and send them to you while on their outing. Collect the photos and make a small scrapbook to present to the family to remember their special day together. You may wish to make a photo collage instead and frame it for the family.

An old-fashioned picnic outing

Suggest some ideas for an outdoor picnic location. Tell the family to let you know a few days before they plan to go on their adventure so you can pack their lunch. Purchase a picnic basket to fill with their favorite picnic foods, and don't forget a nice blanket for them to sit on.

No time to cook? Don't worry. Pick up foods like fried chicken and potato salad at the local deli, or give them a gift card to the deli and let them select their own foods. Fill a cooler with a variety of cold drinks. Purchase a badminton game set and other outdoor games for them to enjoy.

Many gifts are soon forgotten, but the gift of an outing for a family is one that will last a lifetime. There's no better gift than families laughing and playing together at a mini golf course, a zoo, or while on a picnic in the park. Memories will be made, and you will feel good knowing you had a part in planning an outing they will remember for years to come.
